Is there a way to tell if wood is rotting inside?

Answered By Maye Teasdale, Editor

There are many ways to tell if wood is rotting inside. Some woods looks good and no clue of rotting but if you check it, it is. You can tell if wood is rotting when you touch it.

Touching wood is a good way to find out. Tenderness in wood means rotting. Wood that is already brittle means that its inner core is already rotting. The texture also shows inner core problems.
